Climate Policy of the TAURON Group

Effective counteracting climate change and sustainable development are the two main postulates of the TAURON Group’s Climate Policy.
The document, which is in line with the assumptions of the TAURON Green Return concept, was adopted for use in November 2019.

The attempt to counteract climate change is an important element of the international discussion about the life on earth for present and future generations. The complexity of the topic necessitates the involvement of all parties to this dialogue - both at the level of authorities, international and local government organizations, and business representatives. The TAURON Group comes up against this, comprehensively defining its obligations in the Climate Policy.

The aim of the document is to counteract climate change and to sustainably develop the Group's business areas through a fair transformation towards achieving climate neutrality in the future.

For the TAURON Group, the policy is the basis for managing its operations so as to reduce climate-related risks, reduce the Group's negative impact on the climate and maximize the positive effects of climate change in the entire value chain.

One of the most important commitments in this regard is the declaration of support for measures to limit global warming by keeping the temperature increase below 2° C compared to the levels in the pre-industrial period.

An additional challenge will be the Group's adaptation to this phenomenon, both as part of its activities and in relations with other stakeholders. Employees of the Group companies and persons working for it at all organizational levels are obliged to act in accordance with the provisions of the TAURON Group Climate Policy (within their competences).
